Condition Monitoring Technologies

Vibration Analysis

Vibration Analysis is the most powerful tool of all Condtion Monitoring Technologies for rotating equipment. It has the ability to determine the type of vibration present on a rotating piece of machinery. At PMT, we have experience with vbSeries, SKF, Entek/IRD, and CSI Analyzers. For route based vibration collection, our analyzer of choice is the CSI 2120 single and dual channel units. PMT prides itself on quality, accuracy, and timely vibration analysis through standardized collection techniques and expert analysis.  We also do advanced bearing analysis for standard route collection; which provides

Infrared Thermography

All electrical and mechanical equipment have an optimum operating temperature. Unfortunately, all temperature ranges look extremely similar to the naked eye. But when equipment operates out of its optimum temperature range, indicated by a red or white color with an infrared camera, it wastes energy, and shortens its operating life. Often times, loose connections on electrical equipment will cause the use of more amperage which causes the mechanical equipment that is being powered to exceed the optimum operating temperature. This begins a downward spiral that can create a number of dangerous and costly hazards from production loss, to equipment failure, or even fires.

Infrared thermography gives you the edge by seeing problems before they become a serious hazard. Through the use of an infrared camera and the highly trained and experience thermographers on staff at PMT, you won’t have sleepless or worried nights because of the health of equipment under your charge. Our reports show clear & concise images, with a matching digital picture for your reference. Our FLIR PM695 and Inframetric Cameras have a vast temperature range of –40 to 2500° F with an amazing accuracy rate of 98%!

Emax- Online Motor Circuit Analysis

There are both online and offline motor circuit analyzers available today, but only online analysis will allow you to see how your motors are using the power that they are supplied.  Power Quality, Power Circuit, Rotor Health, Stator Health, and Eccentric Air Gaps can be detected through the use of Emax Online Motor Circuit Analysis Testing.

Ultrasonics

The use of ultrasonics also known as ultrasound detection is in essence, listening to the sound which is made above that which the human ear can hear. The human ear can detect frequencies between 20 Hz and 20 kHz. This range is
referred to as the audible, or sonic range. Frequencies above this range are referred to as ultrasonic. Ultrasonic instruments measure the ultrasonic frequencies, and through a process called heterodyning, translate the
frequencies down into the audible range. This technology is a great complement to vibration analysis for rotating equipment but also shows a large return on investment for steam trap surveys and compressed air leak surveys.
